Weapons of Math Destruction is a 2016 book by Cathy O’Neil about the impact of algorithms on our societies. If you always had a funny feeling about data algorithms, what they can do and who decides over their use - this is the book for you.

It is amazingly clear and easy written so that even the not-enlightened of us can understand the subject matter.

Cathy O'Neil worked with the Occupy movement, does algorithmic audits and has given me so far the best reasons, why to be worried and wary of opaque use of algorithms.
