What is Democracy? (2)

I am still confused. Thirty years after the fact of my arrival in the democratic world. In the free world. The leader of this free world, the United States, puts one in every hundred of its people in jail. Most of them have a darker skin colour. My own chosen country, Canada, dissolved the last of its residential "schools" children prison in the 90' of the previous century. Generation of Natives got systematically abused and tortured and told they are worth less than the white population. Nowadays, thousands of native women have been murdered and disappeared, and it took a very long time even to acknowledge this. Like in the US, the prison population, albeit a much smaller one, consists disproportional of people of colour. Black young men get constantly harassed and controlled by the police. Is this the will of the majority?

What is supposed to be soo good about this?

The so-called democratic world treats other countries like shit, steals their resources, bombs their cities, and calls it all free-market or collateral damage.

There was nothing democratic either about the reunification and forced privatization in my home country, GDR. As soon as the Wall opened, the vultures arrived. The manipulated the election; they promised the world to a population that believed in democracies nobody lies and made sure that all the truly revolutionary ideas about participation, common property and a better life were immediately forgotten. Then they tried to demolish and discredit our culture, throwing the stones while completely forgetting the glasshouse they were living in.
